Benjamin HB22 that comes in .22 caliber and its brother .177 Benjamin HB17  is an example of a classical Multi-pump pneumatic air gun.

 Its construction is almost the same that Multi-pump pneumatic guns have decades and may be even a century ago.

Benjamin HB22 has a 9.25" brass barrel, a brass pump tube and a receiver, a cast metal frame and a steel pumping device. Metal parts have matte finish. Grips and forearm are wooden.

Benjamin recommends a minimum of three pumps and a maximum of eight for this pistol. The power of shots depends on the number of pumps you made. With 3 pump strokes the velocity will be about 288 feet per second, with 8 strokes – up to 460 feet per second. The manufacturer does not recommend overpumping this rifle. It immediately leads to lowering the velocity.
